From May to July, Japan enters a period of heavy rainfall known as "Tsuyu". Hydrangeas bloom with bright blue, purple, and red flowers during this period. Hydrangeas are loved by many Japanese people because it is so beautiful, with many large round flowers blooming while being soaked in the rain of June.

Acidic pH in the soil makes the flowers blue, alkaline makes them red.
