Stay tune in the croak of Kajika
Kajika Frogs live in mountain streams and lakesides. Their sucker fingers are necessary for survival in fast flowing mountain streams.
The most characteristic thing of them is beautiful croak. Because of their beautiful croak, they have been popular as pets in Japan since middle ages. The name "Kajika" means stag of the stream, as their croak resembes the sound of a stag.
They are difficult to find because their protective color makes them indistinguishable from pebbles on the riverbank. So many times I would get too close to the frogs without realizing them and they would run away before I could take a picture.
